WESTERN CAPE
NATUREHermanus
One of the world's best land-based whale watching towns
Hermanus on Walker Bay is internationally known for southern right whale watching from shore, especially during the winter and spring migration season. The cliff path makes sightings easy without needing a boat, though marine safaris are also available. Outside whale season, the town still works as a laid-back coastal base for food, wine and nearby nature reserves.
